From the United States to Ballyduff
BandB Nursing was founded in 2005, built on Margaret Byrne’s three decades of healthcare and healthcare education experience across Ireland and the United States. The idea was simple and it has not changed: adult learners deserve clear guidance, honest advice and real support when they return to education.
Twenty-one years on, we are still family-run, still in Ballyduff, and still small enough that when you ring, you talk to someone who knows your name and your course.
What we are here to do
To give students and healthcare professionals practical, supportive education that moves their careers forward: recognised QQI qualifications, taught properly, by people who have done the work.
We measure ourselves on whether our learners finish, qualify and move on to the work or study they came here for.

Meet Margaret Byrne
Founder & directorMargaret has spent more than 30 years in healthcare and healthcare education, in Ireland and the United States. She founded BandB Nursing in 2005 to deliver the kind of training she believed adult learners deserved: high quality, accessible and honest about what the work involves. Twenty-one years of QQI-accredited delivery later, she still leads the teaching herself.

Margaret Byrne, who founded the company in 2005 and still leads the teaching. B&B Nursing is a family-run business, not a franchise or a national chain, and enquiries come to the team in Ballyduff directly.

Do you support adult learners returning to education?
They are most of who we teach. The course pace, the live classes and the tutor support are all designed around adults balancing work, family and study, including people who have not written an assignment in twenty years. You will not be the oldest in the class, and you will not be left behind.
Are your courses QQI accredited?
Yes. All four courses are full QQI major awards on the National Framework of Qualifications, delivered under a quality assurance system agreed with QQI since 2005. The full QA manual is published on our quality assurance page.
