Why we process your data: our legal bases
Contract. Where you enrol with us, we process the information you give us to carry out our obligations: delivering programmes, assessing work, managing your requests and maintaining your student file.
Legitimate interests. We may process information where there is a legitimate interest in doing so, for example the necessary administration of our business. Where we rely on this basis, we first consider whether the same objective could be achieved another way, whether the processing might cause you harm, and whether you would reasonably expect us to process your data in that way.
Consent. Where there is no contract between us, for example when you browse our website, send an enquiry or subscribe to our newsletter, we process your information based on your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting info@bandbnursing.ie, and every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link. We continue to process your information on this basis until you withdraw your consent.
Legal obligation. We may be required to provide information to legal and regulatory authorities on request, subject to correct authorisation and legal basis. An example is the submission of coursework and learner details to QQI for certification. We may also use information to verify your identity for security purposes or to keep our website safe and secure.
Who we share your data with
As a Quality and Qualifications Ireland accredited training provider, we are required to share relevant personal data with QQI for certification.
We also use third-party service providers contracted to B&B Nursing Ltd in delivering our services, including our website hosting, form and email providers. Any third party we share your data with is obliged to keep your details secure and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide on our behalf. We have reviewed the third parties we share data with to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities under the GDPR. For details of the third parties we use, contact info@bandbnursing.ie.
Data transfers
In some circumstances it may be necessary to transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). We will only transfer data to recipients in countries approved by the EU Commission, or where appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data. For further information on these safeguards, email info@bandbnursing.ie.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for no longer than it is required or allowed. For information on the retention period for your data, contact info@bandbnursing.ie.
Keeping your data accurate
Please keep us up to date with any changes to your personal details, so the information we hold about you stays accurate.
Security
Appropriate security measures are in place to protect your data against accidental loss and unauthorised access, including:
- Access to your data is limited to those who need it for business purposes
- Secure servers are used to store your information
- The identity of anyone requesting access to information is verified before access is granted
- Encryption is used to secure personal data
- Information is transferred via closed systems or encrypted transfers
Transmission of information over the internet is never entirely secure. If you submit information to us over the internet, whether by email, through our website or by other means, you do so at your own risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage arising from your decision to transmit information by such means. [SOLICITOR REVIEW: liability wording carried over from the previous policy.]
